The storyteller, Mr. Asakichi Katsura, who represents Japanese traditional comedy, will perform Japanese sit down comedy "RAKUGO" at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival held from the 24th of March – 18th of April.
Mr. Asakichi Katsura has been on an overseas tour since 1998 and to date, performed in over 10 countries including America, England and Singapore. His performance will be on the 25th and 26th of March.
With a history of more than 300 years, it will be interesting to see what Rakugo will deliver to an Australian audience in Melbourne.

Profile of Mr. Asakichi Katsura
From Osaka, Japan, became a pupil of Mr. Kiccho Katsura in May of 1993 then has served his apprenticeship under Mr. Beicho Katsura for 3 years. Up to now, he has promoted "Asakichi recital" and "Asakichi English Rakugo recital" at Tenman Tenjin Hansho-tei in Osaka. Great skill in Japanese flute, Shamisen (three-stringed Japanese instrument) and his hobby is cooking.
