The 2010 Darebin Music Feast is proud to host a special concert with Fuefukuro at the Northcote Town Hall on Friday 17th September, featuring accomplished performers Ayako Fujii, Hitomi Valentino and Ayako Sato.
Formed in 2008, Fuefukuro consists of three passionate musicians who bring their diverse talents together to play both traditional and original pieces using timeless instruments like the Shinobue, the Taiko drums and the Japanese cymbals.
The extraordinary Japanese ensemble Fuefukuro draw their inspiration from the spiritual tales of ancient Japanese mythology, a world inhabited by mysterious, unseen forces never far away from the real world.
In 2010 Fuefukuro is proud to announce the appearance of 2 guest performers, Nikki Venter and Sayako Nakagawa, who bring their own unique artistic talents to those of Fuefukuro to create a dynamic and unforgettable blend of music, dance and theatre.
Fuefukuro performers come the stage with a world of knowledge and experience having studied under world masters including Hiroto Watanabe, Ryo Watanabe, Motofumi Yamaguchi and Grand Master Tsumura.
Forming in Melbourne in 2008 the group has performed throughout Victoria and in Japan and takes their name from FUE meaning flute and FUKURO which is an owl.
