For Tohoku’s Sake – To think about and help the affected sake region without compromising on taste
We are honoured to be invited to the RSVP Sake Seminar held yesterday afternoon (13 Feburary, 2012) in The Consulate-General of Japan, Melbourne.
Japanese Sake is a major product of the Tohoku (north-eastern) region which has been affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake last March. To help with the reconstruction from the disasters, the Japanese Consulate-General of Melbourne organized two events related to sake which may eventually support the affected region.
The main purpose for this seminar was to exchange information and insights regarding how to promote sake, especially the finest sake from Tohoku to Australians.
17 of us sat in a circle introducing ourselves
Sake Samurai, Mr. Keisuke Irie is lecturing us the promotion of sake in other parts of the world and the future of the sake business
Ms. Tsu-Mei Liew is giving us the run-down of the sake event on the 16th Feburary
Vice-consul Mr. Hiroaki Sato hosting the discussion of sake promotion
Kin-san (Mr. Ikuei Arakane) sharing his opinion on sake promotion in Melbourne
Mr. Byron Kehoe (far left) and Mr. Andre Bishop (4th from left) sharing their thoughts from an Australian perspective
Sake Sommelier Mr. Masahiko Iga and Sake Master Mr. Andre Bishop
It was amazing and heart-warming to see passionate sake experts, distributors and Japanese media representatives all get together, doing their best to promote sake to Australia and eventually, to the whole world.
