“Sake-Paper-Scissors” with “Hello Sandwich” at Akachochin in August

Akachochin, the izakaya at South Wharf Promenade, is launching a series of events ʻSake-Paper-Scissorsʼ, which combine a Japanese art and craft workshop with sake tasting and a bespoke five-course degustation menu from Head Chef, Kengo Hiromatsu. With spaces limited to 45 people, the first two Sake-Paper-Scissors events will be hosted by Ebony Bizys of Hello Sandwich on August 13 and August 20.

Sake-Paper-Scissors event series will explore regional Japanese food and sake, coupled with different cultural and craft workshops. Each event will run from 6pm – 10pm, and will generally be staged on a Monday or Tuesday evening.


Ebony Bizys of Hello Sandwich

Itʼs an honour to have Ebony Bizys of Hello Sandwich as the inaugural host. Ebony is an Australian craft artist, designer and blogger based in Tokyo. Before moving to Japan in 2010, Ebony worked at VOGUE for 11 years. Ebony currently blogs for VOGUE Japan, hosts monthly craft workshops and has just completed her original Hello Sandwich Craft Book (available now).

Creating adorable paper based craft and stationary, Ebony will teach the lucky 45 “sandwiches” at each event to create some gorgeous paper craft!

Places for Sake, Paper, Scissors events are very limited (45 seats) and are $100 per person which includes all the required craft materials and a five-course degustation dinner with matched sake.
