Sixty-five years after the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by nuclear blast, Japanese for Peace will bring together a diverse array of inspiring musicians, speakers and citizens of the world in a concert to celebrate peace and imagine a world without nuclear threat.
Shaberou Kai is run by the Australia Japan Society. It is held in a room at Ross House, 24 Flinders Lane.

JASE is held at a bar in the city every other Tuesday. On average it has about 20-30 participants, but at times can get as many as 50 people. JASE not only has these Tuesday groups, but also holds other events such as BBQ’s.

A Sake Tasting sponsored by Sommeliers Australia was held at “Hanabishi” restaurant, on Tuesday, May 4th, with Mr. Masahiko Iga, the distinguished sommelier of the association. There we met Mr. Andre Bishop, who was one of the participants. Mr. Bishop is a pioneer and a trend-setter in current Izakaya and Sake booms in Melbourne. We asked Mr. Bishop about future prospects and challenges for the Sake culture to be embraced in Australia.
