Delight in new works for shakuhachi and piano trio from Hong Kong, Greece Iran and Australia while relaxing in the wonderful surrounds and acoustics of Melba Hall in the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. The three winning pieces from the Shakuhachi Chamber Music Composition Competition 2010 will be performed
the Melbourne Grammar School Symphony Orchestra will come to Japan for the first time.

Ocean white is a collaborative visual-sound-lighting installation performance with Naomi Ota (visual art), Tim Humphrey and Madeleine Flynn (sound), Soo Yeun You (dance) and Peter Eckersall (dramaturge). Organizers have invited international collaborator Genta Iwamura who is the lighting designer for acclaimed Butoh dance company Sankaijuku.
Shoso Shimbo and his students are presenting an exhibition of contemporary Japanese flower arrangements. Shoso is regarded as one of Australia’s top ikebana artists and has won multiple awards including the gold award at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
The Suibokuga artist and the chairperson of the International Bokuga Association, Kinsui Katori, will visit Melbourne again for the first time since the successful association’s exhibition at the Royal Exhibition Building in 2005 and will conduct a public masterclass and demonstration.
