The Short Shorts Film Festival Asia is an Academy Awards accredited international film festival and partnered with the St Kilda Film Festival this year to showcase up and coming Japanese short films. They have scheduled two sessions in May in order to show as many films as they can.
City of Port Phillip Acting Mayor Katherine Copsey also warmly welcomes the addition to the festival, saying, “Partnering with a film festival as renowned as the Short Shorts Film Festival is an incredibly exciting experience. The City of Port Phillip is so happy to be able to facilitate this showcase. We look forward to introducing attendees to a diverse range of talented, forward thinking filmmakers and explore the bringing together of two different cultures, and the role that cinema plays in both of these.”
These sessions would be perfect for any lovers of Japanese films and short film festivals! They have allocated time for two sessions to recognise the immense talent showing this year in the Tokyo Short Shorts.
